The Bourassa Savaria Foundation (CRA #84814 0570) was established in 2014 to support individuals facing mobility challenges. It was founded by Marcel Bourassa, President and CEO of Savaria. Mr. Bourassa personally contributes to the Foundation, and Savaria Corporation also makes contributions.

Thousands of Canadians face daily challenges with their mobility due to illness, aging, or injury. Enjoying the freedom to move, work, or participate in sports is more difficult for those in wheelchairs. The Bourassa Savaria Foundation aims to provide financial assistance to Canadians in need who have limited mobility.

OUR STORY

In 1989, Marcel Bourassa discovered a small company named Savaria that built wheelchair lifts. Seeking a business he could develop long-term, he saw the potential to meet the growing needs of an aging population. He purchased Savaria and dedicated himself to expanding the company's product range and distribution territory.

As President and CEO of Savaria, Marcel looks back on the past 30 years with great pride for what he and the entire company team have achieved in becoming a global leader in the accessibility sector. In 2014, he established the Bourassa Savaria Foundation to support individuals facing mobility challenges.
